Limelight Photo Facial

tackle skin concerns like discoloration from sun damage and facial redness

Treatment Description

The Limelight Photo Facial is your first choice for treating excess or uneven pigmentation and redness on the face or other parts of the body.

IPL is the Gold Standard treatment for treating rosacea as red thread veins in the face absorb the light energy, making them hot. The damage from the heat encourages the body to reabsorb the veins.

Though not its main indication, the Limelight Photo Facial can also stimulate collagen production and improve signs of aging, like fine lines and wrinkles.

FAQs

Who is not suitable for the Limelight Photo Facial?

Clients who are/are on photosensitive medication, pregnant, going through treatment for cancer, have open wounds, tanned skin and fake tan. A full consultation is carried out to determine if this treatment is suitable for you.

What does the Limelight Photo Facial feel like?

It has been described as a rubber band being snapped against the skin and can be mildly uncomfortable, not painful.

Does the Limelight Photo Facial have downtime?

There may be some mild downtime with this treatment - Treated pigment will turn darker (brown to black) within 24-48 hours, but this will lighten. Short term redness (erythema) is common and swelling (edema) of the treated area may occur, but this is temporary.

Consider skipping exercise for a couple of days to prevent swelling, which can slow healing.

If pigmentation has been treated then spots will appear darker and rise to the surface of your skin before falling off or lightening for a few days to a week later.

Your skin may feel sunburned and hypersensitive for a couple days following, so treat it gently until you’re completely healed.

What should I do before my Limelight Photo Facial treatment?

Avoid Retinol for 3 to 5 days prior to your treatment.  Avoid sun exposure and fake tan for at least 2 weeks prior. Avoid treatments that may irritate the skin for 1-2 weeks prior (waxing, depilatories, etc.)

How many treatments will I need?

Every client’s skin and needs vary but on average you may require three to 6 treatments in order to achieve optimal results.

Is a patch test needed for a IPL?

Yes, a patch test is required at least 48 hours prior to your appointment.
